Kirklea Cottages are a charming terrace of four new cottages overlooking the village of Tarbert.

Each cottage offers 9000 square feet of warmth and comfort and sleeps between 4 and 6 people.

The cottages are tastefully furnished and full of character, decorated to an exacting standard.

Each cottage has colour TV, video, radio and washing machine. Outdoor access to patio.

Self Catering Cottages Overlooking Tarbert. Close To Ferry Ideal For Touring Harris And Lewis

The small ferry port of Tarbert shelters in a green valley, on the narrow isthmus between East and West Loch Tarbert at the point where North and South Harris meet. The Kirklea cottages are part of a charming terrace enjoying an elevated position overlooking the village and are faced in Harris stone. The cottages are conveniently located just a few minutes walk from local shops, post office, the ferry terminal and the MacLeod Motel bar and restaurant.

The Isle of Harris has a special quality, perhaps because of its strong contrasts, its peace and remoteness. The landscape is very beautiful and varied: from the peaty moorlands to lime-rich machair and dunes carpeted with wild flowers in early summer; from mysterious inland lochs to some of the most fabulous beaches in the world, with miles of unspoilt golden sand laid out against the clear turquoise of the sea; from the rugged, rocky coastline to the dark and romantic purple heather-clad mountains beyond. A wealth of wildlife is to be discovered, from the arctic tern, golden eagle and oyster catcher to otters, seals, porpoises and occasionally dolphins and whales. With air so clean and pure, visitors notice its beneficial effects from the moment they arrive.

Rooms Description

Each cottage has a large reception room with dining area and adjacent fully fitted kitchen. There is also a utility room, spacious shower room and two twin bedrooms, each with wash hand basins. In the lounge area guests will find colour TV, video and radio for their enjoyment. Additional sleeping for two is provided on a sofa bed in the lounge.
