Dunvegan Castle Cottages - Dunvegan

Three charming self catering holiday cottages located in the magnificent grounds of Dunvegan Castle.

Dunvegan Castle has three self-catering holiday cottages each with its own unique character and charm. The perfect location for a get-away holiday in which to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the castle’s formal gardens and the beauty of Loch Dunvegan. For the more adventurous, they are ideally situated as a base for fishing, hill walking, sightseeing and touring on the Isle of Skye. Although we do not claim to offer luxury accommodation, as this would not be in keeping with the age-old way of life on Skye, our cottages are best described as comfortable and cosy in a traditional Highland sense. We want our guests to relax and unwind in an atmosphere of walking boots and outdoor living. The cottages are comfortably furnished, centrally heated and well equipped. They each contain a colour TV, fully fitted kitchen with dining area, washing machine, tumble-dryer, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Bed linen, towels and electricity/heating charges are all included in the rental charge. A welcome hamper awaits your arrival. It includes a complimentary invitation to visit Dunvegan Castle and information on what to see and do during your stay.

Any visit to this enchanted Isle must be deemed incomplete without savouring the wealth of history offered by Dunvegan Castle & Gardens. Set in the stunning scenery of the Isle of Skye, Dunvegan is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years. Originally designed to keep people out, it was first opened to visitors in 1933 and has become one of Skye's most famous landmarks. Currently visitors can enjoy tours of a romantic castle and Highland estate steeped in history and clan legend, delight in the beauty of its formal gardens, take a boat trip onto Loch Dunvegan to see the seal colony, charter one of its traditionally built clinker boats for a fishing trip or Loch cruise, stay in one of its charming estate cottages, enjoy an appetising meal at the MacLeods Table Cafe or browse in one of its four shops offering a wide choice to suit every taste. There is a wealth of activities in the area ranging from walking, fishing and sightseeing to fine local cuisine and camping at the foot of the estate’s majestic Cuillin mountain range.
