A collection of four star self catering holiday cottages situated 29 miles east of Edinburgh in the heart of the East Lothian countryside. The cottages are set on a farm just a mile south of the picturesque village of Gullane and close to North Berwick. They are within easy reach of the famous links courses at Muirfield, Gullane and North Berwick and there are a number of beaches and coastal walks close by. The surrounding countryside is a wonderful environment for outdoor pursuits and walking. Alternatively, the historic city of Edinburgh can be reached in around 35 minutes by train or car.

One of the distinctive features of West Fenton Farm is the network of rides which extend to three neighbouring farms and offer more than ten miles of safe, off road riding. We run a Riding for the Disabled programme at the farm which caters for more than 120m disabled riders each week. The farm dates back to 1822 and features an old mill chimney, a reminder of the times when the farm's threshing machinery was powered by steam. Interesting attractions lying within reach of the cottages for a day trip include the Scottish Seabird Centre, Museum of Flight, Myreton Motor Museum, Preston Mill, Lennoxlove House, Tantallion Castle, Dirleton Castle and the Belhaven Brewery Visitors Centre.

Rooms Description

Each of our cottages is finished and equipped to a very high specification. The Wellman designed kitchens are complete with with gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and deluxe granite worktops. Hardwood floors are found in the public rooms and there is a gas fired underfloor heating system, ensuring your comfort in the colder months. A TV and video, DVD player and HiFi with radio and CD player should take care of your entertainment needs. All properties enjoy access to the adjacent patio gardens, fenced for the safety of younger children.

The farm is host to a number of RSPB projects to enhance wildlife and a walk or ride around the farm is full of wildlife interest - buzzards, hawks, kestrels and falcons may be seen.
