Located in the charming village of Orinsay on the South East Coast with magnificent sea views over-looking Loch Shell, the Shiant Isles and across the Minch to the Isle of Skye and mainland Scotland. We offer the perfect base to be able to explore, the area is one of outstanding natural beauty with numerous lochs, mountains and sea views. The cottage is well placed for guests with a variety of pursuits in mind, whether into hillwalking, trout and sea fishing or bird watching. Kayakers and canoeists are most welcome and frequently find the sheltered and crystal clear waters of the Minch ideal for this sport. The island’s diverse habitats are home to an assortment of flora and fauna, such as the golden and sea eagles, corn crakes, red deer, otters and seals. Many seabirds inhabit the coastal areas of Lewis including kittiwakes, guillemots, shag, gannets, fulmars, oyster catchers and curlews to name but a few. On coastal cliffs we find merlins and numerous buzzards. Salmon frequent many Lewis rivers after crossing the Atlantic. There are dozens of brown trout lochs nearby, most of which can be fished free of charge. Permits for salmon and trout fishing can be obtained on request. Offshore, it is common to see seals, dolphins, porpoises and basking sharks. On land are red deer, mink and otter amongst other mammals.

A charming three bedroom holiday cottage can comfortably sleep six located in a peaceful village comprising of lounge, kitchen, dining area, and newly fitted bathroom. Unwind after a day of touring the area on the patio and enjoy the idyllic views surrounding you.

Rooms Description

Three bedroom cottage sleeps 6 comprising of ground floor master bedroom, a further two bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. Fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave oven, refrigerator and TV/VCR unit. The lounge area consists of TV with freeview , VCR/DVD unit, CD player, DVD's and books. Newly fitted bathroom with separate walk in shower. Utility Room is equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer. We provide a patio table complete with chairs and recliners for use outside.

** Now with High Speed Wireless (WiFi) internet access** All Lighting, Heating, Bed Linen, Towels, Soap, Washing-up liquid, Washing machine tablets and Toilet tissues are included in the tariff. We even cater for all the other little extras you may require during your stay with us like salt and pepper, cooking oil, kitchen roll, cling film and tin foil. A thermos flask, cool box and picnic dining set is provided for day trips. A starter pack consisting of tea, coffee and sugar is also provided. Guests are offered a complimentary bottle of wine on their arrival at the cottage. Pets are allowed.
