Whinstone Cottages are set on a working farm near Rosemarkie in the heart of the Black Isle, just north of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. The four cottages have been renovated to the highest standards and each sleep up to six people in two and three bedrooms. The farm sits atop a glacial ridge on the Moray Firth and enjoys views across the barley and wheat fields to the Firth itself. Chanonry Point, the best place from which to observe the Bottlenose Dolphins for which the Firth is famous, lies close by. There is thought to be 100 dolphins residing in the bay all year round and these things can be seen from the shore around the lighthouse.

The beautiful sandy beach at Rosemarkie is popular and has a swing park, tennis courts and a cafe. Neighbouring Fortrose has a range of amenities including a well equipped horse riding centre, museum and other attractions. Rosemarkie has a couple of pubs, each serving bar meals and the nearby towns of Fortrose, Avoch and Cromarty also have a variety of restaurants and bars. Inverness, known as the capital of the Scottish Highlands, can be reached in around 25 minutes by car and has a range of leisure facilities.

Each has a spacious living area complete with fireplace and plenty of coal and logs are provided, perfect for those cosy evenings in during the cooler months. This room also contains a TV with Freeview, video player and a CD music centre for your entertainment. Three cottages sleep five in two bedrooms and one sleeps six in three bedrooms. The modern kitchen contains a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker.
