Surrounded by natures bestThe Bothy stands within the grounds of The Garth, originally a Manse built in 1780 and extended in Georgian times as it stands today. Initially, The Bothy was built as a out-house for the Manse and has been very well converted into a small self catering cottage, situated in a peaceful location with a river bordering the owners garden. This accommodation would suit couples looking to take time out, spending special time together, lying in a pleasant valley with a waterfall, good walking, fishing or golfing nearby. Private car parking is available and the cottage is within easy reach of Thornhill, Drumlanrig Castle and the village of Moniaive. During the 1930's the local Post Office used to supply the House of Lords with whisky until it was discovered that the local delicacy had been watered down, Nearby lies Tynron Doon Iron Age Fort which was probably occupied by the Romans during their occupation in this area.
