Spacious Self Catering Luxury Bungalow In Secluded Rural Location Close To Village Ashkirk

A range of self catering cottages sleeping between five and seven people on an 850 acre working farm overlooking the River Ale. The cottages are set away from the main farm steading and were originally built to provide accommodation for farm workers. The nearby village of Ashkirk is situated in the heart of the Scottish Borders and is an ideal base for touring and sightseeing. The village has amenities including a church, pub, garage and nine hole golf course. Should you require a change from the idyllic rural setting then the cosmopolitan city of Edinburgh is approximately 45 minutes drive away.

The cottages have a private garden with barbecue areas for use by guests and friends. The Faulds bungalow is set in a private half acre garden with a secluded patio and barbecue area. Guests are welcome to walk around the farm.There is a private tennis court adjacent to the cottages. Fly fishing is available for an additional charge on our private 17 acre loch which is stocked with rainbow trout together with a natural stock of brownies. Details are available on request. We are located close to the River Ettrick and to the queen of salmon rivers The Tweed. Horse riding is available at a neighbouring farm. Both outdoor and indoor lessons can be booked. For guests who bring their own horses we can provide stabling and grazing on the farm. Please ask for details.

Rooms Description

All cottages have oil fired central heating and electric fires in the living room. Coal fires can also be provided on request. The bedrooms all have wardrobes and dressing tables or chests of drawers with bedside lamps. Beds have duvets and pillows. Linen is provided on request. Living rooms have comfortable three piece suites, occasional chairs, coffee tables, colour television, video and music centres. Kitchens are fully equipped with electric cooker, refrigerator, freezer, microwave cooker, dishwasher, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and kettle. All have stainless steel sinks and modern units. Crockery, cooking utensils and cutlery are provided.

Specialities

Close by is the nine hole Woll Golf Course and a separate golf driving range. There are 15 golf courses within half an hour of Ashkirk, made even more appealing with the Freedom of the Fairways deal offered by the Scottish Borders Tourist Board.
