North Bilbster Cottage is two storied and its stone walled garden enjoys views of the Wick River.

Two Secluded Self Catering Family Cottages On 1300 Acre Working Farm With Own River And Fishing

North Bilbster and Gardener's Cottages are traditionally built stone cottages that have been fully renovated to a high standard for your comfort. The Scottish Tourist Board has awarded both cottages four stars. The accomodation is situated on Bilbster Mains, a 1300 acre working farm straddling the delightful Wick River in a fertile little valley just to the east of Loch Watten. Despite the rural location, it is just a fifteen minute drive from here to the coastal towns of Wick to the east and Thurso to the west.

The farm also boasts a large number of registered national monuments from an impressive standing stone, to brochs and other sites of archeological interest. The Miller family was delighted when their efforts at conservation were rewarded in 2005 when they were placed runner-up in the national biodiversity awards, run by the NFUS and RSPB. The Wick River which runs right through the farm offers the opportunity to catch smaller wild fish in addition to some larger ones and perhaps even some salmon. Other activities available within easy reach include birdwatching, surfing, golf, paintball, quad bikes and horse riding.

Rooms Description

Gardener's Cottage sleeps up to six in a double and twin bedroom. Additional sleeping is available on the lounge n the from of a sofa bed. North Bilbster Cottage is two storied and also sleeps six in the same configuration. The stone walled garden offers unhindered views of the Wick River and surrounding farmland. Livings rooms are equipped with wood/peat burning stoves, TV, DVD, Freevie, books, games and DVDs. BBQ is available by request.
