Harleyburn Cottages are two splendid self-catering cottages located in a beautiful private garden setting in the picturesque town of Melrose. Stables Cottage is a one-bedroomed cottage sleeping up to 3 people. Saddlery Cottage is a two-bedroomed cottage accommodating parties from 2-6 people. Both cottages date from 1870, and have been superbly modernised and equipped to provide very high quality accommodation in a stunning garden location. Both cottages are built from local red sandstone and have delightful south-facing aspects with views over the gardens to open fields and the Eildon Hills beyond. The cottages retain the charm and appearance from their working past as a Saddlery and Stables block. This character and charm has been combined with all the modern comforts and facilities expected in the 21st century, which we hope helps to give a very memorable self-catering holiday experience. The cottages lie at the very heart of the beautiful Scottish Borders region and offer guests an excellent base for exploring this very beautiful and historic part of Scotland.

Melrose enjoys the most picturesque of settings nestling at the foot of the Eildon Hills. In summer the town is bedecked in a splendid display of hanging baskets and plants that have made Melrose a finalist in the Britain in Bloom competition and a past winner of the “Best Tourist Town in Scotland” accolade. The bustling little town of Melrose also enjoys a splendid range of excellent restaurants, family friendly pubs, cafes and a good range of specialist shops. Lying as it does at the centre of the beautiful Scottish Borders region it forms an ideal base for exploring the many delights in the surrounding area. The area is steeped in history and has a rich heritage of stately homes and gardens which can be enjoyed by visitors. The area also has an excellent range of golf courses, superb fishing on the nearby River Tweed and is a haven for walkers and cyclists.

The SADDLERY COTTAGE has been restored and equipped to a very high standard from a Victorian Saddlery. It offers guests excellent accommodation with every modern comfort, whilst retaining the charm of a traditional country cottage. The cottage sits in private gardens shared with a 19th century Coach House and the neighbouring Stables Cottage. The cottage features an ornamental Victorian cooking range in the modern kitchen, and beamed ceilings in all major rooms. Saddlery cottage has a very comfortable lounge with beamed ceiling, good quality seating and wide-screen digital TV with DVD and Video; a large modern dining kitchen with modern appliances and a dining table comfortably seating 6 people; a large master bedroom with king sized bed; a family bedroom with a double and single bed; modern shower-room with double sized power shower. The cottage has extensive parking to the front and side, and a cobbled patio with BBQ and garden furniture. Splendid south-facing views over gardens to the Eildon hills. STABLES COTTAGE is a delightful traditional holiday cottage in Melrose, set in a lovely large landscaped garden. The Cottage has been restored to a very high standard from a former Stables block. It is extremely well equipped and furnished and offers guests excellent accommodation with all modern comforts in a picture postcard, country cottage setting. The cottage is accessed from a private driveway shared with a 19th century Coach House and the neighbouring Saddlery Cottage. There is an open-plan modern kitchen, dining area with seating for 4, which opens onto the very comfortable lounge. The lounge has good quality sofas (including a double sofa-bed) and a large wide-screen digital TV with Freeview channels, VCR, DVD. It is fully double glazed so is a very cosy holiday cottage in the winter. Stables has master bedroom with a king sized bed and en-suite facilities. The modern en-suite bathroom has a bath with an electric overhead shower, sink & toilet. A separate additional toilet and washroom is also available off the lounge. Extensive private parking, stone chipped patio with BBQ and garden furniture. Splendid south-facing views over gardens to the Eildon hills.
