Beautiful Victorian villa built in 1875 set on the southern edge of Wigtown, Scotland`s national book town. With open views over Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve yet only a leisurely 10 minute stroll from both the harbour and the town centre itself we are the perfect place to stay in this beautiful part of South-West Scotland.

The size and lay out of the rooms also make us ideal for family gatherings,intimate weddings and small corporate events. For those coming for fishing, wildfowling etc, we offer secure storage and 2 kennels. All of our bedrooms are large, comfortably furnished, individually decorated and have a colour TV, complementary tea and coffee, radio/CDplayers and hairdryers as standard.An iron and ironing board are available, and a travel cot can be provided if required

Rooms Description

Room 1-Beauly. South facing huge sunny family room which can accommodate 4 in a double and full size bunks. From Easter 2008, this room will be ensuite, although at present, it is not en-suite and has exclusive use of a spacious private bathroom just across the hall, with bath with shower over, wc, wash-hand basin and heated towel rail. Room 2 - Cromerty. Again south facing double bedded room with en-suite shower cubicle, wc and wash-hand basin. Room 3 - Moray. The best view in the house! Very large room with king size metal four poster bed, sofa in the bay to enjoy the view from and full en-suite bathroom - bath with shower over, wc, heated towel rail and wash hand basin. Could also be used as a family room, with space for up to 2 extra single beds. Room 4 - Solway. East facing room, catches the morning sun, with views over the bay towards Creetown. Usually arranged as a twin bedded room, but can be a superking as the bed zip-link. Full en-suite bathroom as room 3. Room 5 - Dornoch. Westerly facing twin bedded room, with en-suite shower and dressing area, wc and wash-hand basin. Room 6 - Lorne. South facing large double room with kingsize bed. The ensuite shower room has a large shower with a pull down seat and hand rail, wc and whb with lever taps. This room is on the ground floor with a view out over the garden

Specialities

Every evening we offer a 3-course evening meal,served at 7.00pm at a cost of £17.00 (Please note, we are a family business and there may be occasions when we are unable to offer an evening meal. Should this be the case we will inform you as soon as possible.) We also cater for diabetics and those requiring a gluten-free diet. If you are taking the whole house for a family get together etc, a buffet style meal can be arranged to suit - just let us know! We hold a restricted licence and a good selection of beer, wines and spirits are available to compliment your meal.
