Overlooking the Loch of Spiggie RSPB reserve, Setterbrae is the ideal choice for catching a glimpse of the interesting birdlife, the wildfowl that feed during the migrating season, the abundance of geese returning in the autumn and winter each year. With dramatic cliff top walks nearby, a natural environment steeped in history, unique archaeological sites such as St. Ninians Isle, Jarlshof and Old Scatness Broch, excellent fishing, and an outstanding music scene, particularly during the Shetland Folk Festival, Setterbrae is the ideal base for your visit to Shetland.
Setterbrae is ideally situated for visiting some of Shetland's popular visitor attractions including Jarlshof prehistoric and Old Scatness archaeological sites, Shetland Croft Museum, Quendale Mill and much more. The house is situated in a superb walking area with an abundance of wildlife and midsummer wild flowers. As a member of Shetland Anglers Association, we can offer fly-fishing on the Loch of Spiggie, while nearby is Spiggie Beach, popular for swimming.
