Lounge area with wood burning fire for residents useLow Kirkbride is a warm, comfortable farmhouse set amid beautiful countryside in Dumfries and Galloway, with lovely views from every room. Friendly atmosphere with superb breakfasts and tasty Aga home-baking and cooking. The conservatory looks onto our attractive garden. We have our own walking leaflets, one round the surrounding countryside and the other around our farm. Organic working beef and sheep farm with pedigree herd of belted Galloways.
We do an Evening Meal if you would like, our own home-grown Belted Galloway Beef features in a lot of our menus, as does local game of Pheasant and Venison, however, we do cater for vegetarians as well, our most popular dish being Cheese and Rocket Tart with Parmesan Pastry. Everything is cooked in the Aga, and tasty home-baking is available with Teas and Coffees throughout the day. Alternatively, there are several places to eat nearby
We have three en-suite rooms, one double, one twin and one family, all with remote-control TV, hairdriers, electric blankets, tea/coffee making facilities, alarm clock radio and tourist information. There is a lounge with a wood and coal burning stove and a conservatory for residents' use. Open January - December
We have our own walking leaflet, for walks starting and finishing at Low Kirkbride, and there are many walks further afield, one of the best being to Johnnie Turner's Monument The Farm has a games room for guests, with ping-pong and pool tables. The FWAG Wildlife Box has information about the farm, colouring sheets for children and excellent books on wildlife Super routes in really quiet countryside. Bikes to borrow and a lockable shed for bikes. Keir Mill, where the Bicycle was invented, is six miles away and we are half a mile from the KM Trail

Directions from the South :- Take the A75 and then the A76 towards Kilmarnock and Thornhill. After approximately 2 miles, turn left to Dunscore on the B729. Go into Dunscore and at the mini-roundabout bear right down the hill past the hotel. Just after the de-restriction signs there is a crossroads, go right and follow the road for about 1½ miles past a ruined tower at Lagg, and take the first left (north) at a the triangle of grass. Low Kirkbride is the first farm on the left. Directions to Low Kirkbride from the North :- Take the M74 south, leaving the motorway at Junction 14, taking the A702 towards Elvanfoot and Thornhill. After apporoximately 15 miles go left at the A76, through Thornhill and after approximately 6 miles go right at Auldgirth towards Dunscore. After approximately 1 mile take the first right to Keir, Penpont and Glenmidge, then after a further mile turn left to Glenmidge. Take the first right at Glenmidge and then first right again at the 'Everyone's flocking to Low Kirkbride' sign. Low Kirkbride is the first farm on the left. From Auldgirth to Low Kirkbride is 3 miles
