Guests can use the TV / VCR and Radio / CD or relax with a book from our wide-ranging collection.Craiglemine Cottage was originally built around 1840 and extensively rebuilt and modernised in 1991. The cottage is surrounded by the broad rolling fields of rural western Dumfries and Galloway and we enjoy wide views of uninterrupted sky and landscape. Here you have the choice of the type of holiday you like-you can have an active holiday enjoying the walking, cycling and fishing of the area or spend time relaxing and exploring the history and beaches of the area.
Nature lovers will enjoy the regular visitors to the cottage, including hares, hawks, roe deer, buzzards and skylarks. Nocturnal visitors include bats, barn owls and tawny owls and we have a bat detector which allows you to hear the ultrasonic squeaks from bats. Our breakfasts are a great way to start the day, choose from a full Scottish or vegetarian option. Excellent 2 or 3 course evening meals are also available by arrangement and we use our home grown vegetables whenever possible.
We have single, twin, double and family rooms on offer and all are equipped with radio alarm clock plus tea and coffee making facilities. The residents lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind following a days exploration. Here guests are welcome to use the TV/VCR and radio/CD or relax with a book from our wide ranging collection.
The accommodation is non smoking throughout. We are only too happy to cater for celiac and vegetarian diets, please enquire when booking.
