Woodshiel Bed and Breakfast is a family run guest house overlooking the Moulin Burn in the town of Pitlochry. The town has two whisky distilleries that have proven to be popular tourist destinations over the years. Edradour is reputedly the smallest distillery in Scotland whilst the Blair Atholl Distillery dates back to the 1798. The salmon ladder at the nearby Tummel hydro-electric dam is also popular with visitors, where you can watch the salmon swim upstream from weir to weir or via video from the visitors centre. The surrounding countryside offers much opportunity for hill walking, incorporating the hills of Craigower and Ben Vackrie.
Woodshiel B&B itself is superbly situated just five minutes walk from Pitlochry town centre in one direction and the ancient hamlet of Moulin in the other, where you will find the Moulin Inn, AA Scottish Pub of the Year, 2006. A range of restaurants, pubs and shops can be found in Pitlochry. Alternatively, relax around the B&B and try and spot the visiting heron or red squirrel that can often be seen in the grounds.
