The Meadows is detached four bedroom house offering three star awarded bed and breakfast accommodation in the centre of the conservation village of West Linton in the Scottish Borders. The accommodation is just eleven miles from the Edinburgh city by-pass, allowing easy access for the airport, the Forth Bridge and the North. West Linton itself is on the old Drove Road where cattle and sheep where watered on their walk to the English markets. Nowadays we occasionally get those who are walking from Lands End to John O'Groats staying at the Meadows.
It is only a five minute walk from here to the village centre, where you will find a restaurant and a couple of pubs where you can enjoy a decent meal. Should you wish to travel further afield there is the historical centre of Edinburgh with its famous castle; Tranquair House, the oldest inhabited house in Scotland; Rosslyn Chapel, world famous for the beauty of its stonecarvings and finally Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots.
