A Converted Farmhouse Offering Bed & Breakfast Accommodation Close To Gretna In The Scottish Borders

Barrasgate House Bed and Breakfast provides three star rated accommodation in a converted nineteenth century farmhouse in the countryside of the English/Scottish border. The surrounding area is steeped in the history of the bloody warfare of past centuries and the house is built on the site of the medieval battle of Solway Moss. There are a range of outdoor activities available locally including fishing on the Rivers Sark and Esk and the house is close to the National Cycle Network.

Gretna Green, famous for runaway weddings, is less than half a mile away. There are still many thousands of couples taking their vows for each other every year to this day, at the most famous marriage location in the world, The Old Smiddy. Start the day with a full Scotish breakfast made using fresh local ingredients. If you are heading out for the day, we are only too happy to prepare a packed lunch for your trip, by prior arrangement. In the evening time we serve light suppers by arrangement.
