Nestled in the centre of the charming village of Lamlash and situated on the shore looking across Lamlash Bay to the Holy Isle, we may well be the most beautiful location on Arran! Our traditional Scottish hotel, with its gables and whitewashed walls has recently been refurbished in a fresh style which compliments the age of the building and its island location. The Glenisle Hotel is one of the oldest hotels on the island and therefore is full of character and charm. Sit and enjoy the sea views with a coffee or glass of wine in our stunning walled garden or terrace. If it's a bit chilly outside, relax with a glass of Arran whisky in our cosy snug. The snug features exposed sandstone walls and a large, original fireplace. Our resident's lounge is the perfect place to unwind in after a busy day. Snuggle up in the comfy chairs, browse the book and games collection or enjoy the beautiful views out of the window. The Glenisle Restaurant is popular with locals and visitors alike for its excellent cuisine, relaxing atmosphere and friendly service. Our menu focuses on modern classics made from fresh, local ingredients and is constantly changing to reflect the seasonal availability of different produce. Arran offers lots to do for all tastes. We have some of the best mountaineering and hill walking in Scotland. Fishing and golfing is widely available. Specialist interests such as ornithology and geology are well catered for, or why not visit Brodick Castle and it's gardens? For the less energetic, simply explore the beautiful island. Most of our 13 rooms have direct or indirect sea views and all are ensuite. All rooms were completely refurbished at the beginning of 2009. We have 3 superior rooms and 10 standard rooms. Superior rooms are larger and have a direct sea view across Lamlash Bay to the Holy Isle. They have king-size double beds and a sitting area with armchairs and a coffee table. Bathrooms are well appointed with either a walk-in shower or a full bath with a shower over. Most standard rooms look across the hotel’s walled garden and have indirect sea views. Some look across the roof of the old police station and do not have sea views. Bathrooms are well appointed with either a walk-in shower or a full bath with a shower over. All are beautifully decorated and are the perfect place for get a good nights sleep after a busy day on the Isle. All our rooms are equipped with colour TVs, telephones, radios, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, electric shaver points, shampoo and shower gels and full central heating.
