Rickwood House Hotel sits in its own grounds within the delightful village of Portpatrick in Dumfries and Galloway, South West Scotland. We are a family run guest house with a three star rating from Visit Scotland. We have a quiet location overlooking the village, harbour and Irish Sea. Near to the golf course yet only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village. We are about 7 miles from the ferry port of Stranraer and at rhe start of the Southern Upland Way.
Our house has been modernised to a high standard and now has a conservatory which is used as a lounge for our guests. Relax and enjoy a drink here at any time of day while you take in the magnificent scenery. Start off the day with your own choice of breakfast from our menu. Traditionally prepared porridge is our speciality. Locally smoked salmon with scrambled eggs is always available as an alternative to the usual choice of fried items.
Rooms Description
We have double,twin and family rooms all decorated to a high standard. Each room is fully equipped with colour TV, radio alarm clock, hairdryer. magazines and hospitality trays. Some rooms also have DVD players. Our Factors Suite offers extra luxury with superb sea views, a large en-suite with bath & shower(and a view,)bath robes, fresh flowers, tv/dvd and a comfortable seating area
Specialities
Should you wish to stay in for your evening meal, we can provide a delicious, home cooked three course meal, followed by cheese & biscuits six nights a week. We use local produce whenever possible. We have a residents license so you can enjoy a drink either with your meal or in the conservatory lounge or garden. Finally, we must mention that, uniquely, at least in Portpatrick, our guests can enjoy as much of Maggie`s mouthwatering home-made shortbread as they like.

Directions
From the North take the A77 from Glasgow. From the South take the A75 from Dumfries. Approaching the village on the A77 from Stranraer, fork right at the War Memorial into Heugh Road. Proceed for approximately 1/2 mile then turn sharp at the crossroads up Golf Course Road. The entry to Rickwood is first on the left.
