The chalets are private and well spread out, and all take advantage of differing elevated positions to enjoy the magnificent views over the loch.
Some chalets can accommodate up to eight people, others are smaller - some with saunas; all are fully equipped for a special holiday. Gamekeeper's Lodge at the entrance to the estate sleeps up to 6 adults. There are plenty of open areas for play or relaxation, and lovely walks in and from the grounds. The emphasis here is on peace, and tranquillity. On site leisure facilities include tennis court and a disc golf course. Loch Monzievaird self catering accommodation is situated in the beautiful region of Strathearn in Perthshire, where the Scottish Highlands meet the lowlands, at the very heart of Scotland. Perthshire is ideal for a golfing holiday in Scotland with 30 golf courses in the 'Big County', ranging from small highland nine hole courses, to eighteen hole championship courses. From Monzievaird there are about 20 courses within half an hours drive and St. Andrews and Carnoustie are only about an hours drive away. Fishing can be arranged locally. We have three fibre glass boats in the boat house on Loch Monzievaird and access to a lovely beat on the River Earn which is less than a mile away.
There are five types of chalet at Monzievaird ranging from two bedrooms sleeping up to four, to three bedrooms sleeping up to a maximum of eight persons. The Lodge: This was the original Gamekeepers lodge for Ochtertyre estate. It is a listed building situated immediately off the A85 road at the entrance to Loch Monzievaird and approximately 200 metres from Reception. The ground floor accommodation comprises: entrance porch (with hanging space over radiator), hall, living room (with gas fire), kitchen/dining room with dishwasher and all cooking facilities, utility room with central heating boiler, washing machine, tumble dryer; one double bedroom and a bathroom with toilet. On the first floor there is a double bedroom (with en-suite shower room), a twin bedroom, and a sauna/shower room. Overall the Lodge is furnished to a very high standard, it does not however have views of the loch. Outside there is parking for two cars, a kennel/bicycle store and a small back area. The fenced garden is about half an acre and fully self contained. Hardwood table & chairs seating 6, sun lounger and rotating BBQ. From the rear there is a path to a wooded area which, after a short climb upwards leads onto the disc golf course and along and down to the loch (5 minutes walk). The complete Sky Digital package is included. Sleeping up to 6 adults.
We have our own recently laid Elastasol all-weather court situated close to the Reception building on our entrance driveway. Hire tennis racquets are available at Reception. We also have an electric Tennis ball machine for hire which provides an excellent training facility for aspiring players. Professional Tennis coaching can be arranged. We have a 9 hole par 3 disc golf course hidden away amongst huge old oak trees. It is a professionally designed course with marked tees and official PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association) chain baskets. Play areas : We have a small play area with swings, a slide and a climbing frame. There are large open areas for other ball games and some great places to fly kites. There are two small burns running through the grounds which are fun for netting tadpoles or small trout, and for dam building. There are lots of other areas which are perfect for building dens.
