Glenelg is situated 20 miles north of the Kyle of Lochalsh on Scotland's north west coast.This beautiful Highland retreat sleeps up to nine people in the romantic Scottish west highland village of Glenelg. The house is set high on a hill overlooking the island of Skye providing a truly magical place where you cannot help but relax and soak up the magnificent scenery. It's situated along the shores of the Sound of Sleat, opposite the southern end of Skye and faces 3 miles of sea towards the dramatic peaks of the Cullen mountains on Skye, and south to the islands of Eigg, Rhum and Muck.
There is much to see and do in the local area including walking, canoeing, cycling and climbing. There are also many lovely beaches around Glenelg, one of them is Sadaig Bay where the novelist Gavin Maxwell wrote 'Ring of Bright Water'. The Isle of Skye and its many attractions can be easily explored in a day from here and the six car turntable ferry operates from April to October. At the end of the day relax over a drink and a delicious meal at Glenelg's fantastic pub/restaurant.
