A traditional crofter's cottage offering 4 star self catering accommodation on the Isle of Lewis, five minutes drive from the beaches of Croir and Bosta.

A traditionally built two-bedroom crofter's cottage, which has been recently renovated and upgraded to a high standard and has been awarded a 4 star rating from Visit Scotland. The cottage is on a 10 acre croft situated in the village of Hacklete in Great Bernera. Great Bernera is an island off the west coast of Lewis situated between East and West Loch Roag. The cottage is ideally situated and is a great base for anyone wishing to get away from it all, relax and take in the stunning scenery. It is also an ideal base for anyone wishing to explore the island of Lewis.

The cottage is a 5 minute drive from the beaches of Croir and Bosta and the local shop in the village of Breaclete offers a mini market (Licensed) post office service and petrol and diesel sales. There is a local vibrant community hall which hosts lunches, ceilidhs and community events. On the island there are sign-posted walks and an abundance of wildlife. The cottage offers accommodation for 4 people, consisting of 1 double bedroom and 2 single beds. It is fully double glazed, has oil (Combi boiler) central heating, electric shower over bath and a fully fitted kitchen which includes dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, combined washer dryer, iron, toaster, kettle and hoover. All crockery and cooking utensils are supplied. Fire extinguishers and alarms fitted as standard. Off season, weekend and part-week rates are also on offer as are late booking deals. We provide a complimentary basket of local produce.

The cottage offers a large cosy living room and two bedrooms - TV. DVD, Freeview, and CD player. Bedrooms are large and spacious. Bathroom with electric shower over bath. All kept to a high four star standard.

Specialities

Location, views, walks and beaches add in the very friendly people in the village which makes this an ideal place to get away from it all. We have still yet to have our first ever complaint. No-one has yet been dissapointed.

Directions

Follow directions to Great Bernera and Uig, turn of at Great Bernera sign post. Over the white bridge to Bernera Island, past the shop and church and just before the community center take a left turn. Follw road untill you get to little red post box outside house.
