Welcome to Glenmore Country House B&B, a welcoming guest house located just outside the village of Kilmelford, 16 miles from Oban on the West Coast of Scotland in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The house dates back to 1854 and has been in the Oatts family for 150 years. It retains many original features including a panelled entrance hall and carved figures on the oak banisters. The main rooms are spacious and elegant, individually decorated and furnished with antiques, pictures and ornaments.

There are numerous lochs in the area which is ideal for keen fishermen and women. We can provide fishing permits for you so you can even drop your bags off and head straight to the loch! The area is also ideal for walkers,ramblers and cyclists with mile upon mile of pathways waiting to be explored! The scenery is breathtaking and there are countless view points not to be missed. Why not spend a day on the water and hire a boat, or alternatively, visit The Natural Trust for Scotland's Arduaine Gardens which is only 3 miles away.

Rooms Description

The New Wing Suite comprises of a double/twin bedded room, a single bedded room, a bathroom and a private sitting room with a sofa bed. An additional bed or cot is available by arrangement. The double/twin bedded Yellow Room has views over the garden and grounds of Glenmore Country House and guests can enjoy the ever changing views over Loch Melfort. The bathroom (not en-suite) is fitted with a shower over bath and has original hand-made tiles.

Specialities

The Drawing Room is a very spacious, elegant and beautifully furnished room. Guests are welcome to relax here and enjoy the peace and quiet. Breakfast is also served here. Packed lunches can be prepared for guests on request.
