The hotel is situated on a working country estate and offers a wide selection of estate sports such as clay pigeon, pheasant, partridge and grouse shooting or some of the best salmon fishing in Scotland. The hotel also has its own trout fishery for fly fishing and tuition. Archery, falconry and mountain biking make the best use of the hotel's natural surroundings. The hotel's challenging golf course was opened in 1997 and has deep challenging bunkers and large rolling greens.
