Dykehead House offers two beautiful luxury holiday cottages that can each sleep up to 6 people in three bedrooms. Both cottages are part of Dykehead House, a listed building that dates back to the 1700's that is located amidst outstanding Scottish countryside in the little picturesque village of Port of Menteith. These cottages are the perfect retreat for a peaceful and stress free self catering break away from it all, yet only an hour away from two of Scotland's biggest cities, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The cottages are located close to Lake of Menteith, Scotland's only lake. Here you can enjoy a spot of fishing or a tasty meal in the lake-side restaurant. A little further away you will reach Callender, a lively town with a supermarket, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a leisure centre and a visitor centre. Aberfoyle is also within easy reach which is a beautiful part of Scotland for walking and exploring the Trossachs, or maybe even a round of golf. Stirling, a historical city is only 14 miles away and within an hour you can access Glasgow with its collection of museums and cosmopolitan shops. Glasgow is also the home to Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet and several theatres. Edinburgh is another city that is well worth a visit with its various attractions, historic buildings and fabulous shops.

Rooms Description

Both Coll Cottage and Tiree Cottage are stunning 3 bedroom cottages that can sleep up to 6 people. The cottages comprise of a lounge/diner with colour television with Freeview and DVD player, a Hi-Fi system, contemporary leather sofas and easy chairs and a dining table with six chairs. The kitchen has an electric cooker with oven and grill, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, kettle and combined washer/dryer. All utensils and crockery are provided. The bathroom has a modern suite with bath, sink, W/C and shower over the bath. Bedroom One has a comfortable double bed, quality bed linen, plenty of storage, dressing table, clock radio and a hairdryer. This room also has a view across farmland and hills. Bedroom Two has twin beds, quality bed linen, storage space and a clock radio. Bedroom Three has twin beds with quality bed linen, storage and a clock radio. Bedroom Three is located on the ground floor in Coll Cottage. Tiree Cottage also has French doors leading to the patio area.

Specialities

Both cottages benefit from thermostatically controlled central heating throughout and have secure car parking with night sensor lighting. Other facilities include an iron and ironing board, cleaning utensils, a clothes airier and a selection of books and games. There is also a private patio area with furniture and a BBQ. A welcome pack will also be provided including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, scones, butter and jam.
