Glengarry Cottage is a delightful self catering holiday property set in the heart of the village of Killin in The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The village enjoys a breathtaking location, being surrounded by tall mountains and home to the Falls of Dochart and a series of rapids that carry the river through the heart of the village. There are forests, moorland, rivers, lochs and glens on the doorstep and a wide variety of walks to suit all levels of ability surround Killin. Set on the western edge of Highland Perthsire, this is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area. Callander and Aberfeldy are just thirty minutes away by car, whilst the urban centres of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Oban can be reached in less than ninety minutes.

Lovers of the great outdoor will find no shortage of things to see and do in the area surrounding Killin. Boating and fishing is available on the River Lochay, mountain walks to suit all levels of ability in the surrounding hills or enjoy a game of golf at Killin golf course or one of the 40 or more golf course to be found within easy reach. Explore the area's rich history at Blair Castle, Scone Palace or Castle Menzies or take a distillery tour at one of any number of local whiskey producers. The village has a good range of amenities to suit the self catering visitor, including a hair dresser, supermarket, post office and a collection of art galleries, tea shops, pubs and restaurants.

Rooms Description

Glengarry Cottage sleeps up to eight people in three double bedrooms, with additional sleeping for two on a sofa bed in the games room. Outside, there is a large garden area with swings and slide to keep our younger visitors amused. The comfortable lounge area has a flame effect fire, making this the ideal spot for a relaxing evening watching TV or a DVD. The dining area has a large table and chairs with seating for up to ten people. The kitchen contains all you will need to make your stay more comfortable, including a washing machine and fridge/freezer. The 'secret room' above the kitchen is ideal for games and has a TV and Playstation and excellent views of the surrounding hills.

Specialities

Glengarry Cottage is generally booked out for stays of seven days, running from Saturday to Saturday. Shorter breaks may be available out of season.
