Doonbank Cottage is a beautiful thatched country cottage set within four and a half acres of private woodland in the picturesque village of Alloway, close to Ayr and just a short walk from the famous Brig-a-Doon. The cottage has fabulous views of the River Doon, which runs for half a mile along the property's eastern boundary. The surrounding woodland is habitat for a wide range of wildlife including deer, otters, squirrels, pheasants, partridges, quails, owls, herons and ducks. This tranquil location is ideal for a family break, fishing, nature or golfing holiday.

There are a great many visitor attractions to be found in the area around Dunoon Cottage. The property is situated just a ten minute walk or five minute drive from Robert Burn's cottage, the Brig-a-Doon, Tam O'Shanter Experience, Burn's Monument and Alloway Kirk. The shores of Loch Lomond are also easily accessible for a day trip, being just one and a half hour's drive from the cottage. Glasgow, Culzean Castle and Kelburn Castle can all also be reached in under an hour's drive. Lovers of the great outdoors will find golf, horse riding, fishing, sailing, walking and cycling all within easy reach of the accommodation.

On the ground floor of Doonbank Cottage lies the large sitting room with an open fire and the dining room with mahogany dining table. The kitchen is well equipped with all that the self catering visitor is likely to need. There are three generously sized bedrooms - one with king size bed, one with twin beds and one with a queen size bed.
