Airebroc - self catering holiday cottage - Isle of Lewis
A self catering croft house situated in the small hamlet of Crowlista on the Isle of Lewis, close to Uig Sands in the Outer Hebrides. Sleeps 7 in 4 bedrooms.
Airebroc is a large self catering croft house set in one of the Outer Hebrides' most scenic spots, the small hamlet of Cradlastadh (Crowlista). The house lies at the end of a road which runs along the northwest side of Uig Sands, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Outer Hebrides. Crowlista enjoys a remote location, well away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet there is an excellent local shop selling groceries about a mile away. The shop is in Timsgarry, which is also home to a community centre with museum, where ceilidh dances and dinners are held at which visitors are warmly welcomed.
The area around Crowlista is well suited to outdoor activities and a wide range are available locally. Sailing has become increasingly popular and boats can be launched from slipways at Miabhaig or Valtos. Other activities to be found include boat trips, cycling, climbing, diving, fishing, kayaking, surfing, walking and karting. There are three restaurants to be found within a five mile radius, one of which can be reached in a ten minute walk across the beach at low tide.
