Cheap Hotels Scotland, Cheap B&B Bed and Breakfast Scotland - Accommodation Grading Scotland Cheap B
Most cheap Scotland B&B accommodation, alongside hotels, holiday lodges, caravan & camping parks and self catering holiday cottages in Scotland are graded by the Scottish Tourist Board. All Scotland accommodation types are graded using the Star system. The Scottish grading system works much like the English one. The Scotland system uses a simple five star grading rank. If from the start an accommodation, including Scotland B&Bs, scores less than 60 percent on assessment then they will not be graded. That means even a one star B&B has scored over 60 percent!
Quality assessment is based on exterior appearance, comfort and quality, interior decor, service and welcoming ambience and fashion, ie. Contemporary or traditional. A one star grading represents an Acceptable standard, with cleanliness guaranteed. Two stars signifies the accommodation is of a good all round starndard whilst three stars signifies the accommodaton is of a very good standard, with attention to detail in all areas of decor, cleanliness and service.
Four stars is moving towards the luxury accommodation scale, signifying an excellent all round standard with high quality maerials and food plus friendly service and welcome. Finally, five stars signifies the accommodation is exceptions, with luxury standards, superb presentation and ambience, excellent food in five star hotels and B&Bs Scotland and impecable service. Other grading schemes operate in Scotland including the Welcome Schemes which complement the 1 to 5 star quality ratings. These often signify a B&B is geared towards cyclists or walkers, golfers or anglers and so on. Green Tourism tags including a bronze, silver and gold symbols signify that the accommodation is making sustainable and environmentally friendly efforts.
