Crieff Antiques, arts and crafts shopping in its pretty centre is a highlight in the town. Visit the Crieff Visitor Centre for more shopping, particularly of fine Buchan Pottery.
Numerous attractions are in and around the Crieff and Comrie area including Drummond Castle Gardens, with its fine formal gardens considered one of the best in Europe. Visit Scotland's oldest library between Crieff and Auchterarder. The Innerpeffray Library dates from 1680 and is open to the public. Crieff's biggest attraction however is Scotland's most visited whisky distillery Glenturret, home to the Famous Grouse Experience. Tour the distillery and see close up how fine single malt Scotch whisky is produced.
Crieff to the west of Perth within the stunning Strathearn Valley is a bustling arts, antiques and crafts shopping centre (see Crieff shop listings right), and retains its links with history as fasionable and select spa/hydropathic resort. The Strathearn Hydropathic is still in business, now Crieff Hydro luxury spa hotel.
Head first to the Crieff Visitor Centre which is set within its own extensive rural grounds, with fine views of the surrounding Strathearn Valley peaks. Inside view and or purchase some of the Buchan Pottery on display. The famous Buchan potters moved to Crieff in 1972, and their pieces of fine decorative stoneware are collectors items. They're particularly renowned for their thistle design which is especially popular overseas. See examples on the online shop via the Crieff Visitor Centre's weblink right. Also on-site is a 180 seater restaurant, a Highland Drovers Exhibition, a large garden centre and various gift outlets in showrooms. A Children's play area is within the grounds.
Towards the west end of Crieff high street the Crieff Ceramics Pottery Workshop and Gallery is well worth a visit. Pottering about the centre of Crieff browsing art and crafts shops is pleasurable indeed. Push out to the wider Crieff area at Muthill and discover Drummond Castle Gardens (weblink right), with its impressive formal gardens - one of the best in Europe. If you're a book lover and library fan, you'll be interested to know that Scotland's oldest free-handling library - Innerpeffray Library is situated on the B8062 between Crieff and Auchterarder. The library dates from 1680 and is open to the public. (open March to October Wednesdays to Saturdays, 10am to 12.45pm, 2pm to 4.45pm, and on Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. Tel. 01764 652819).

Scotland's oldest distillery and home to the famous Scottish Grouse whisky is here in Crieff, and its main attraction by far. The visitor centre here is the most visited distillery in Scotland, with a five star rating from the Scottish Tourist Board.
Scenically set by the glenturret Burn, with fine views of the surrounding Perthshire countryside, the Glenturret distillery has a long history dating back to 1775. The adjacent pure waters of the Turret Burn were useful from the start! A tour of the distillery is a lesson in how single malt whisky is made in the traditional Scottish way. The Famous Grouse whisky is one of Scotland's most well known and best loved whiskies.
The large on-site shop stocks a superb choice of grouse goodies including the famous Malt. The personalised bottles are especially popular. An online store is also available via the website.
