Situated at Waverley Mill on Dunsdale Road in Selkirk, you can take tours of this 100 year old plus mill, taking a close look at the processes involved in spinning yarn. (tours available all year round from Mondays to Thursdays, 10.30am/11.30am/1.30pm/2.30pm and on Fridays 10.30am and 11.30am). The quality of the fabics produced here at Lochcarron is renowned, and they've moved with the times winning some prestigious clients! Never quite leaving his legal background behind despite great literary success during his lifetime, Sir Walter Scott remained Sheriff of Selkirkshire until a few years before his death at Abbotsford.
Here at Selkirk, Sir Walter Scott's Courtroom is essentially a former town house dating from 1803 and it's here that Sir Walter Scott sat as Sheriff. The town house on Market Place contains a visitor centre, audio visual display and small shop.

Capperton's Studio may well be the last remaining natural daylight photograhic studio dating from 1867 existing in the UK.
