Spean Bridge is a small village between Fort William and Invergarry. It has a range of shops, cafes and a tourist information office making it a good point to stop and refresh.
It is also a good holiday base being at the junction between the Great Glen and the West Highlands towards the coast. It has a range of B&B and hotel accommodation.
Spean Bridge Highlands Scotland B&B Accommodation
Spean Bridge is a small settlement on the main A-road through the Great Glen. It's pretty much at the junction where you can turn off for the West Coast or continue through the Great Glen.

There are a few shops in the village including Spean Bridge Mill a comprehensive stop-off for Scottish gifts. There are themed shops including the Spirit of Whisky Shop, Clan Tartan Centre and the Aran Shop. The clues are in the title! The complex includes a restaurant, coffee shop, toilets and free car park.
Commando Memorial World War II History Spean Bridge
Just about a mile out of the village on A82 heading for Inverness is the striking Commando Memorial looking out over the Nevis mountain range. The bronze statue erected in 1952 commemorates the men who trained in this punishing area during World War II. The views from the monument are absolutely stunning.
During the summer at the Spean Bridge Hotel the Commando Exhibition tells the story of these men. There is also a Commando Trail that takes in some of the places they trained.
Spean Bridge Golf Course
Spean Bridge has a challending 9-hole, par 66 golf course on the east side of the village. It was founded in the 1950s by veterans of World War II who also designed and built the course.
