Inverness Airport connects the rest of the UK with the Highlands and Scottish Islands
Inverness and the Scottish Islands airports are small but well equipped
On a good day flights over Scotland give you some spectacular viewsScotland is well served with airports and the Highlands are no exception. Inverness Airport is just a short drive from the city centre making it ideal for a city break. Alternatively flights connect to the Outer Hebrides and the Orkney Islands.
Wick over in the North East Highlands also flies to the Orkney Islands and connects flights through Aberdeen and Edinburgh.
Inverness Airport is a great point to fly to for exploring the Highlands of Scotland or for onward connections to many of the Scottish Islands. Many UK airports link to Inverness including Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, London, Southampton, Bristol, Belfast, Dublin.
It is also a great if you're travelling for a city break or longer stay in Inverness itself. It's only a short drive into the city from the airport. You can get either a taxi or a bus from the terminal building.
Wick Airport is on the north of the town itself. Destinations served by Wick Airport include Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Kirkwall on Orkney. Other destinations can be picked up by connecting through Aberdeen. Both Eastern Airways and British Airways have scheduled services to and from Wick.
There is a cafe in the terminal building selling refreshments and newspapers. There is a free car park at the aiport with a couple of disabled parking spaces.
Campbeltown Airport is situated on the former RAF Machrihanish runway. The runway is the longest in Europe.
Loganair run regular flights between Glasgow Airport and Campbeltown which takes just 40 minutes. The airport is owned by Highlands & Islands Airports and is open Mon-Fri 9.30am-5.30pm. Check the flight finder on the Campbeltown Airport link right for flight times.
