It is also a great if you're travelling for a city break or longer stay in Inverness itself. It's only a short drive into the city from the airport. You can get either a taxi or a bus from the terminal building.
Inverness Airport, in Dalcross nine miles east of Inverness city centre, is easily reached off the main A96 road. The airport provides a good arrival point for exploring the Highlands of Scotland or for onward travel to the Scottish Islands.
Scheduled flights from Inverness throughout the UK operate between London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Luton, Belfast City, Birmingham, Bristol, Dublin, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester, Southampton, Nottingham East Midlands and Edinburgh. The Scottish Islands are served by flights between Inverness and Stornoway and Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides/Western Isles, Kirkwall in Orkney and Sumburgh in Shetland. Flight operators running services to and from Inverness include Eastern Airways, Loganair/British Airways, Easyjet, BMI, Flybe, Highland Airways and Ryanair.
The airport has a newsagents, cash machine, cafe and food and drink dispensing machines, toilets and baby changing room. The airport has four car parks, 1-3 are short stay car parks adjacent to the terminal building and car park 4 is for long stay and is signed as you enter the airport complex. Up-to-date rates for parking are listed on the Highland Airways site, weblink right. You pick up a ticket on arrival at the car parks which you retain until you are ready to leave. Payment is made on foot at automatic pay stations in the Arrivals area of the Terminal Building and outside the Terminal Building. The terminal is open Mon-Fri: 6.30am-10pm. Sat: 6.30am-10.30pm. Sun: 6.45am-10.30pm.
There are disabled facilities including toilets and wheelchairs. Ambulift facilities are available to assist passengers with impaired mobility during embarkation and disembarkation from aircraft and there are ramp facilities at the entrance. If you require assistance make any necessary arrangements prior to arriving at the airport either through your flight operator or by contacting the Airport Information Desk on Tel: 01667 464000. There are also nineteen disabled parking spaces in the car park.
Car hire is available from Inverness Airport and both Avis, Europcar and Hertz have offices in the terminal building. Local firms also offer car hire facilities and can arrange for pickup at the airport. Try the links right for quotes.

Buses run regular services to and from the airport taking you into Inverness City Centre. During working hours these run every 30 minutes. Rapsons Bus Company publishes its timetables online, weblink right. The number 11 bus is the main service to and from the airport.
The airport is not served by direct rail access. The nearest train station is in Inverness city centre, a mainline station that serves the whole of Scotland with connections throughout the UK. There is also a station at Nairn, and trains run from there to Inverness every 2 hours with a journey time of around 15 minutes.
