Colonsay Attractions

Colonsay attractions are varied and help keep the Colonsay hotel trade healthy. Colonsay events include the Cel Cholasa Folk Festival, while Colonsay Boat Trips are popular for pleasure cruises as well as amongst those looking to enjoy sea angling and sports fishing within the excellent Colonsay fishing waters. Colonsay Golf Club is another popular attraction and although Colonsay golf course is technically members only, a 20.00 annual membership makes a golfing weekend here more than affordable. Colonsay House Gardens include exotic plants and trees typically found in the southern hemisphere making it a consistent pull for green-fingered visitors to the island.

Finally, the tradition of MacPhie Bagging is one of the more quirky attractions offered by any of the Scottish Islands. Any hill over 300 feet qualifies as a MacPhie, and MacPhie bagging is the attempt to climb them all in one go. It has proved the beating of many an experienced walker but many return regularly to conquer the challenging terrain, boosting tourism on the island year on year!
