Ferries to Tarbert Isle of Harris Outer Hebrides

Caledonian MacBrayne run regular ferry crosssings from Uig on the Isle of Skye to Tarbert on the Isle of Harris.

There are usually two sailings a day during the summer and one a day in the winter. The journey takes just over one hour and forty five minutes arriving in Tarbert harbour on the east side of Harris.

This is the shortest ferry crossing to the Outer Hebrides and the car passenger ferry can take 600 passengers and 110 cars. Onboard facilities include a cafeteria, bar and shop. You can purchase an Island Hopscotch ticket if you're planning doing several island crossings. Ferry crossings between Scotland and the Hebrides include the Lewis, Isle of Skye, the Uists and Barra.

Leverburgh to Berneray North Uist Ferry

Caledonian MacBrayne Ferries run a service from Leverburgh In South Harris to the Isle of Berneray which is connected to North Uist by a causeway.

The journey takes an hour across the Sound of Harris and it is renowned as one of Scotland's most tortuous routes as the ferry has to dodge all the skerries and rocks that lie in the channel. There are around 3 or 4 crossings every day during the summer with fewer in the winter. The ferry can take 200 passengers and 32 vehicles.
