Benbecula Tourist Information Outer Hebrides
Benbecula lies between North Uist and South Uist. It was once an important RAF base. The airport is near Balvinich the main settlement on the island. Regular flights from Glasgow to Benbecula provide a quick route to the South Hebrides.

Benbecula Tourist Information
Benbecula falls between North Uist and South Uist. It is linked to both these islands by causeways. Its main settlement is Balivanich in the north west of the island an is the administrative centre for the Uists and Benbecula.
The west coast is largely cultivated whereas the east is a mix of freshwater lochs, moorland, bog and deeply indenting sea lochs. Craigstrome near Ruabhal is Benbecula's highest hill at 124 metres.
Benbecula Airport Western Isles
Benbecula is an island between North Uist and South Uist. They're all now connected by a causeway road. The airport is on the west coast of the island. It used to be an RAF base during the war, but started taking passenger flights after it ended. The airport has a modern terminal building with a cafe.
Loganair run regular scheduled flights from Glasgow and Barra to Benbecula. Highland Airways fly from Stornoway to Benbecula.
The airport is open Mon-Fri: 8.3am-5.45pm. Sat: 8.30-10.30am and 2.45-4.45pm. Sun: 11am-12.30pm. Taxis are available from the airport - check the Highlands & Islands Airports page for numbers.
