The Airport has its own station, within walking distance of the Terminal Building and with superb direct rail links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres. Bus services into the cities from Prestwick are likewise superb, with the Stagecoach Western Express Service, bus number X77 departing to and from Glasgow Buchanan Street Station regularly on the hour and every 30 minutes during peak periods. The bus journey takes around 50 minutes to Glasgow.

You could certainly describe Prestwick as a Scottish centre for golf. The famous Prestwick Golf Club is home to the Open Championships - the first Open was held here in 1860.
